Exit from your accommodation to discover the history of Porto, one of the oldest European centers and the second-largest city in Portugal. Resting on the Douro River, it is a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Exploring the Douro river, the life artery of both the city and the Iberian Peninsula, as it flows from northern-central Spain to its outlet into the Atlantic Ocean. Drive along the storied streets and avenues with monuments that are sculpted in Romanesque, Neo-Classical, Gothic, and Baroque styles.

Stop at the Clérigos Church, and then head to São Bento Railway Station, known for its blue and white azulejo tiles, showing how these panels illustrate scenes from Portugal’s history. Visit the Lello Bookstore, one of the oldest in the country, and admire its Art Nouveau trace by prominent Gothic features.

Your tour ends across the Douro at a traditional port wine cellar in Gaia, where you taste a sweet red vintage as a local expert tell you about its production.
